Bernadette Peters
Bernadette (nee Lazzara) Peters is an American actor and singer. She has appeared on films, television, musical theatre , and solo performances, as well as recorded recordings. Her career spans more than six years. Critically acknowledged as a Broadway performer, she has received seven Tony Awards nominations, winning two (plus an honourary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations. She has won three. Four of her Broadway casting albums in which she's performed have won Grammy Awards.
Peters is widely acknowledged as the most famous interpreter of the works by Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87), The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011), as well as Hello, Dolly (2018).
